- Thesis: trust the process before you trust the result  
- Lens (headline only): identify noise → build control → test under pressure → preserve evidence → fail closed when evidence is not good enough  
- Operating loop (concept): Observe → Control → Test → Learn → Repeat — controlled feedback; the loop can learn but must not quietly rewrite the test  
- Recursion: the method is part of the experiment; process is re-tested after it changes  
- Doom loops: self-reinforcing / self-confirming feedback is treated as a design failure; independent challenge, fixed rules, preserved evidence, fail closed
